【影片簡介/Synopsis】
富士康，世界最大的電子產品代工廠，生產組裝半數以上的iPhone，2010年發生連續跳樓事件引發關注，手上時時刻刻握著iPhone的人們，彷彿才突然意識到生產手機的工人們，過著每天12小時，每7秒一次的機器式勞動。心中有些許不安，但握著iPhone的手卻無法鬆開，智慧型手機已經徹底改變人類的生活方式。另一頭，曾經是台灣之光的HTC手機，上游的觸控面板廠卻發生打壓工會的事件，工會跟聲援的學生找上HTC抗議，讓HTC的主管們既狼狽又委屈，同時，一名HTC的工程師疑似過勞死，臉書最後的訊息是週日凌晨三點「下班了issue還是無解…」。這個時代，由像機器的人製造像人的機器，是一齣無望的悲劇，還是一個美麗新世界的開端？
Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics OEM factory, manufactured and assembled more than 50% iPhone of the world. In 2010, the serial jumping of Foxconn workers caught attention. People holding iPhone suddenly noticed that it’s producer were working like a robot, acting every 7 seconds, 12 hour a day.
They felt a bit uneasy, but cannot loosen their hand. Smartphone has changed human life completely. On the other side, the company supplying touch panels to HTC were suppressing worker union. Union and supporting students choose HTC to protest, making its managers feel embarrassed and aggrieved. Meanwhile, one of HTC engineer died possibly because of overworking. His last message on Facebook was “off work, issue still not resolved”, AM 3 o’clock, Sunday. In this era, robotic people making humanized machine, is it a hopeless tragedy, or the beginning of a brave new world?
【導演的話 / Director’s statement】
連續跳樓事件之後，富士康董事長郭台銘宣稱要打造機器人大軍，用來取代生產線的工人，這計畫雖然遲遲沒有實現，但某種程度來說，我是期待的。提升工人的工資與減少工作時間，或許是眼前較急迫的現實，然而目前這種機械化的勞動本身，就是一種對人性的否定。我們也要準備好，當機器人大軍進攻的那一天，需要整個社會結構的調整，創造新的工作類型，合作的取代競爭的、創造的取代複製的、生活的取代異化的，來承接失業的工人。
After serial jumping, Foxcoon chairman, Terry Kuo, declared to build an army of robots to replace assembly workers. Though the plan has not been realized yet , in a way I’m still looking forward to it. It might be more urgent to raise workers’ wage and decrease working time, however the machine-like labor itself is a denial to humanity. We should be ready, too. For the day when robot army marches, we’ll need to adjust the whole social structure and create a new job genre, which is cooperative rather than competitive, creative than reproductive, and live than alienated, to catch workers who lose their jobs.

以紀錄片參與社會運動，希望自己可以是一個激進的紀錄片導演跟有趣的社會運動者，除了拍片以外，也策劃結合議題與社區的影展，組織影像工作者成立工會。現居新竹北埔，是超級奶爸。
A documentary maker and a social activist. Except filming, I also organize independent film festivals, and found the Taiwan Studio, Exhibition and Arts Labor Union.
