高雄前鎮漁港每年十二月到隔年一月，有近一百艘魷釣船從東經120度航向西經60度，前往西南大西洋漁場的福克蘭群島外海作業，捕釣台灣日常生活中常見的阿根廷魷魚，而這段大約耗時35至40天的枯悶航程，被船員們稱之為——「水路」。2015年1月1日，一艘船身長65米，寬11米的900噸魷釣船，從前鎮漁港啟航，將載著60名來自東南亞各國的船員，前往與台灣時差12小時的福克蘭群島外海作業，影片是關於這群海上勞動者的遠洋討海紀行。
Every December to January, almost a hundred squid fishing boats from Ch’ien-chen Fishing Harbor in Kaohsiung will sail from East 120 to West 60 to work at Falkland Islands in the South West Atlantic. The sailing takes 35-40 days and crew members named it “waterway.” January 1st, 2015, a 65 meter long, 11 meter wide fishing boat began its journey to Falkland island. This is a documentary about 60 crew members from south-east Asia to work far away from Taiwan.
【關於導演】
盧昱瑞，畢業於臺南藝術大學音像紀錄研究所，拍攝主題多為高雄海邊的故事。紀錄片作品有《北堤漫遊人》、《冰點》、《尋找五金》等；2010年影像作品〈關於一種揮手告別的姿態—航行三年〉獲得高雄市立美術館頒發高雄獎。2013年出版《打狗漁村》一書，2015年拍攝台灣魷釣船紀錄片。目前仍持續紀錄高雄阿美族船員的生活故事，及高雄海邊的人文紀錄。
LU Yu-Jui graduated from the Graduate Institute of Studies in Documentary & Film Archiving. The theme of his works are mostly about sea and seashore in Kaohsiung. Works including “Waiting for Fish”, “Freezing Point” and “A New Park”. “About Waving Good-bye—Three Years of Navigation” in 2010 was awarded by Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. The book “Takao Fishing Village” was published in 2013. 2015 he began to film squid fishing boats. He is still working on the stories of Amis fishermen and Kaohsiung seashore.
